Project Status

The Draft EIS was made available for agency and public review starting September 26, 2008. A Pubic Information Workshop and Public Hearing were conducted on November 12, 2008 to discuss the Draft EIS and solicit comments. The comment period for the Draft EIS closed on November 24, 2008. The FAA thanks everyone who participated and submitted comments.

The FAA is proceeding with Phase 3, the preparation of the Final EIS. The Final EIS is scheduled to be completed in 2010.

Public Involvement

For the PBIA EIS, FAA will implement a Public Involvement Program that will allow everyone to participate in the study. It is important to understand that every EIS is different, and that FAA develops its public involvement programs for each EIS based on the needs of the individual communities. It is FAA’s intention to develop this program and revise it as needed to meet the needs of the Palm Beach community and to keep everyone fully informed during the EIS process.
