Public Meetings

Agency and Public Scoping meetings occurred during Phase 1 of the EIS process. Details of the meetings are provided below. Continuing opportunities for public involvement will occur during Phase 2 of the EIS process. FAA will announce all upcoming opportunities for public involvement on this website. At this time, no other EIS meetings have occurred besides those conducted for Scoping.

Scoping Meetings

As one of the initial steps in the EIS process, FAA conducted an Agency Scoping Meeting and Public Scoping Meeting on February 27, 2007 at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport. The following material was available at the Scoping Meetings:

The purpose of the Scoping Meetings was to present an overview of the Scoping and EIS processes, to describe the proposed projects under FAA consideration, and to obtain input from agencies and the public regarding the issues to be examined in the EIS.

The Scoping comment period was from January 26, 2007 (when the Notice of Intent to prepare an EIS and hold Scoping Meetings was published in the Federal Register) through March 27, 2007.  FAA has summarized and cataloged all comments received during this period and considered them in the finalization of the EIS Phase 2 Scope of Work.  All original and summarized comments are contained in the Scoping Period Comment Database.

Although the Scoping comment period has closed, FAA will continue to accept comments and gather information throughout the EIS process. Any information received by FAA that it believes is critical to the environmental analyses will be included in the EIS.
